(Development Of Adoptees)

The researchers have found that there might be high risks of psychological developments and social relationships for the adopted ones. But, all these flaws are due to the failure of methods in breeding of adoptees. The recent studies are supporting and helping in guiding more valuable information regarding the similarities and dissimilarities of thoughts and lifestyles of adoptees. It is found that adoptees, in few respects, develop in a different way of breading as compared to others. Here in this article we are going to discuss the development of adoptees in few phases of life :

  • Identity

The sense of identification can be defined in a number of ways. Generally, construction of identity is a continuous process for development of identifying one’s self from others. According to researchers the stage of puberty is the time when someone identifies what their actual identity is.

That identity lacks stability in the starting years but it becomes more and more stable as time passes. It has been found typically that there are a number of identities which someone can associated with themselves. Some common forms of identities are gender, status, racial and religious class etc. In case of international adoptees, main problem is found during racial and national identification development. Because of this more strength and functionality of family members support plays a vital role in construction of identification.

  • Influences

Indeed family support plays a vital role in formation of identity. This fact doesn’t implies only in childhood but also during development of adolescence identity. Gender, religious and ethnic identity still forms during the phase of adolescence and family plays a key and major role in development of this identity. An honest, stable, supportive and loving family is a family which provides a vast area for every member to feel safe in exploring what their identity is as well as developing a sound identity.

  • Effects On Adoptees

Adopting children provides a number of opportunities to them that they might never be able to receive. Some examples of these opportunities are getting a lovely environment, parents who are their to overcome their financial needs as well as providing them facilities to access best education and a lot more. Apart from all these negative factors there are also some negative aspects of adoption which effects the adoptees mentally as well as emotionally.

According to researchers of Princeton University, adoptees might suffer a large range of psychological effects during all the stages of life. One of the toughest challenge for an adoptee is to develop their identity. The reason behind this is that the adoptees may not feel comfortable in adjusting themselves with their adoptive parents as they are not the people who gave birth to them. Most of the life of adoptees is found to be struggling in finding what they are and what they could be, because they are unable to understand that  where everything concerning about them came from.

Above mentioned issues are few of many which one might face in development of an adoptee and tackling their behaviour. But one might succeed in doing so by providing a loving and gentle environment for the adopted children.
